Angklung Orchestra Pada Suka Zurich
Our Angklung orchestra was founded on the 30th January 1980 as a non-commercial association.
The Indonesian name “ PADA SUKA” means “TOGETHER AND WITH JOY”
The home of our bamboo instrument is the City of Bandung on Java island, Indonesia.
The aim is the traditional indonesian music to make known in Switzerland.
The net proceeds of the fees is rehearsed in carfully selected aid projects in Indonesia and
Switzerland.
The orchestra is supported by passive members and patrons who feel connected through the joy of
the Angklung music and through the associations aim.
The orchestra has a remarkable repertoire of indonesian, international and religious compositions,
obtained by the bamboo instruments, a special tone.
A highlight and a bridge between Indonesia and Switzerland is the collective game Angklung and
Alphorn.
The members exercise every Thursday evening from 7 to 9.15 p.m. at the Kantonsschule Limmattal,
Urdorf.
A weekend a year connects the practicing and preparing for concerts with the care of cameraderie.
